This RCGP accredited course aims to equip practitioners and advocates with the advanced skills required to meet the needs of more complex drug users, thus fulfilling the role of Practitioners with Special Clinical Interest in drug misuse.
The materials in this course have been evaluated by the National Addiction Centre and is updated each year to fall in line with the current UK Clinical Guidelines.
The course continues to build on its existing successful formula and incorporates new developments in best practice guidance, exploring the evidence that underpins it. It has always prided itself on its multidisciplinary learning principles and these have been developed further, in response to a number of new sections in the Clinical Guidelines Update, including non-medical prescribing.
The Certificate in Drugs Misuse Part 2, is aimed at GPs and other interested practitioners who wish to develop their skills further and have a particular interest in the field as leaders and drivers of development in their workplace or locality. It involves self-directed learning, and all the information required to complete is set out in the handbook which you will receive at the beginning of the course.
